Description
An everblooming wildflower treasure from the high elevations of the Drakensberg Mountains of South Africa, Bulbine abyssinica flowers with spikes of brilliant yellow flowers. The flowers are held overabove loose rosettes of bright green, spaghetti-like foliage. Collected by Lauren and Scott Ogden from mountain meadows on the western flanks of the Draks, this is a cold hardy perennial (down to USDA zone 6 in dry- winter western gardens). It’s a fine rock garden plant. Or grow it in the waterwise garden where it gets some moderate summer moisture.
